  • About this program:
  • Join us for the first Coast-to-Coast L&E Update of 2017, where we will help you navigate the waters of finding balance between family status and employers’ rights in the workplace. In recent years, courts, tribunals and arbitrators have given more consideration to the obligations of employers when dealing with family status needs. This topic continues to challenge employers and human resource professionals, however, striking a healthy balance between supporting employee needs while ensuring a productive work environment has never been more important, and is a crucial factor in retaining talent.

    Our national L&E team will review recent decisions and provide guidance on navigating family status needs in the workplace.

    The interactive discussion will include:
    - A review of the current family status protection in Canada;
    - Recent case law review on family status in Canada;
    - Practical tips for managing family status requests.
