    Our Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Management group and Auto Sector group are organizing a three-part series focusing on key trends in transformative technologies and the law. This series will cover trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and Autonomous Transportation.

    Part I - The Art of Artificial Intelligence: Introducing Key Issues in AI and the Law

    The first part of the series discusses the regulation of autonomous artificial agents and the implication of such regulation on innovation. This CPD will provide a primer on AI and an overview of some of the pressing legal questions businesses are facing as AI and robotic systems evolve and mature.

    Topics to be covered during this session are:

    - AI Adoption: established and emerging uses for AI, inside and outside the business.
    - Key Legal Issues: privacy and data restrictions, risk allocation and liability, cybersecurity, and regulation generally.
    - Regulation vs. Innovation: striking a balance between motivating innovation and safeguarding the public from harm.


    This program qualifies for up to 1.5 hours of eligible educational activity or CPD/MCE credit under the mandatory education regimes in British Columbia, Ontario and Québec.
