  • About this Program:

On June 17 the Race Action Group will be hosting an internal program on anti-Asian racism. Asian communities in Canada are extremely diverse. In light of the recent rise in racism and violence directed towards members of the East-Asian community, this panel will zero in on the experiences and perspectives of a panel of East Asian colleagues. This session is one of several conversations the Race Action Group intends to hold on the experiences of racialized communities in Canada. The next one will be in the Fall, and will focus on islamophobia.

This event will include opening remarks from our CEO, Dave Leonard, will be moderated by Miranda Lam, Partner & Gender Equality Action Group Chair, and will feature remarks from Kim Nguyen, Partner & Race Action Group Montréal Lead, Faerie Cabrera, Legal Assistant, and Jason Wong, Research Specialist. We are also pleased to welcome back our former associate Abigail Cheung, President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (British Columbia), and an associate at Harris & Company LLP.
